I like InsureLine’s e-signatures for client documents, and also the business planning they do with us to improve our brokerage. Anytime we call InsureLine’s head office, they’re always there to support us – from business planning to dealing with insurers.

We joined InsureLine about four years ago. We wanted to make sure that we retained ownership without selling out to the “big guys”, and InsureLine gave us that opportunity. InsureLine supports us with market access, support with those insurers, as well as helping us on the technology side for insurance forms, for client service management, phone systems – really anything that we need, we can reach out to them.

Because we are locally owned, if we were to sell out to a major insurer or insurance brokerage, most of them are going to the model of centralization… But we find that the clients still want that hometown feel and want to be able to go into an office. So that centralization model didn’t really work for us. And InsureLine gives us the ability to make sure that we are writing policies in the communities that we know. And it feels like we can give our clients higher echelon service that way.

InsureLine’s regional conferences help us so much. Then we also attend the annual national leadership conference – those ones are very, very informative. Our insurer partners are great collaborators, so they show up to InsureLine’s conferences too. One of my favorite ones we ever did was we had an insurer panel at the very beginning of the conference – I’ve never seen this done before. They had all of the insurers up in-front. They hit them with every hard question at the very beginning of the conference, which gave everybody the ability to put all of those questions and answers behind us, allowing us to move-on to the actual collaboration and moving forward on everything.

InsureLine is super considerate, and they really spend a lot of time with the brokerage owners. It builds really good collaboration together between head office and franchises. And that also helps them to give us the continued opportunity for our insight and everything like that.

InsureLine’s training, it’s really good. I think that they listen to a lot of the feedback from the owners and the people on the ground who are looking for the training. They have training programs segmented. They have insurer partners that will host different training sessions.

InsureLine really listens to what their brokerages are asking for. We connect to InsureLine’s trainings through Microsoft Teams, and we have weekly meetings on Fridays with the whole network where they share important and useful information. They really keep their finger on the pulse. And they are delivering training for what everybody is wanting and asking for.

I do think that InsureLine has been growing the brand. They’ve done a couple of different marketing campaigns, which I appreciate because they’re testing the waters, seeing what sticks. The “Insure Like a Canadian” ad campaign I really loved because it was at a time when everything was so focused on being Canadian and homegrown and very local and community oriented. So that not only aligns with what all of Canada is looking at right now, but it also aligns with what each independent brokerage is doing right now too; we’re focusing on our community and supporting them. I think the “InsureLine like a Canadian” campaign was perfect.

We all join this industry for a reason. A lot of our reasons are because we enjoy the actual insurance aspect of it. If you enjoy doing insurace, you enjoy servicing your community, you enjoy assessing risks, all of those things… then maybe rely on InsureLine to help you with the other stuff that takes up a lot of time that really isn’t as fun building and developing. And if you get sucked in that hole of administration and business operations, it does tend to take away from your focus on the community in certain situations. It takes a large office and a lot of different people to be able to do all of that. And if you’re a smaller place, rely on InsureLine’s head office for their help.

With brokerage technology it takes a lot of time to research platforms, negotiate terms, then it’s reviewing privacy issues, all of those sorts of things. That takes a lot of time away from a Brokerage Owner who could be better spending their time with guiding their staff, focusing on growth, and more.

InsureLine takes the brokerage technology management off of our plate. They do it for all of our systems, like phones, the BMS.

Being part of the InsureLine network is pretty fantastic. InsureLine organizes Regional and National conferences where we get a lot of feedback. We get to hear from other owners, learn what other offices are going through, and we get to kind of build each other up.

If someone asked me if they should join InsureLine, I would say: absolutely. There’s so much support there, education, networking – 100% do it. All of the franchise partners that I’ve ever met have been fantastic. All of the work that InsureLine’s head office team does to build things out for the franchisees is pretty amazing.

InsureLine provides us with rating systems, data entry systems – we use it all. You get all the marketing support, and it’s very simple. They help us with IT and setting up emails, they’re right there for us – a very fast response. It gives a lot of freedom to us.

All the technology definitely helps us a lot with all the data entry systems, marketing systems, applied rating systems. We have easy access to all the markets. We have good quotes right away. And this is a lot easier for us and our clients.

InsureLine provides a lot of training – online trainings every week. We also have general meetings. InsureLine’s helps keep us updated on insurance news and industry changes; they definitely save us a lot of time.

There’s head office support for helping brokerages with any challenges. InsureLine also helped us find new clients and gave us a lot of advice – very positive. They helped us to increase our volumes. InsureLine is a company that allows us to do everything that we are capable of to market to our own Chinese community.

It’s definitely a perfect company for us. I love my job because this is the industry that I want to work with. This is the place which fits my culture, and fits my language that I am good at.

They allow us creativity and freedom, and I’ve been working in insurance for 15 years and have never seen another company allow owners to do so many things that they want to do. InsureLine provides us with very robust technology. What I’m impressed about is the cloud services. If we’re visiting a client, we can literally pop-open our cell phone and apply on the mobile app. It’s very intuitive. We have all the client information pre-populated in there.

Marketing support with InsureLine is also very strong. We get leads from the marketing – we also get advertisements designed by InsureLine. They have the most brilliant ideas. Very creative, very humorous. We appreciate what they provide.

I think the public advertising is definitely working. We have lots of Google traffic, and we have quite a few walk-ins and call-ins.

InsureLine also has the best training out there. Especially for me, I think cyber security is quite important. For owners, we care about data – they make sure we don’t get breached. They have a very robust tech team.

Their conferences are always fun. You get to meet with all your peers, all your fellow owners and managers; and, you kind of get to see where the market is leading in different provinces across Canada.

I would say if you join InsureLine, it is a very low risk endeavor, because they have the best knowledge out there. They literally guide you from creating the corporation, all the way to having the contracts signed with the insurers.

They can even help you with renovating your store. Our store is quite big, so we got a lot of help from InsureLine head office with our renovation. They have the best people, the best network.

If we have a complaint from a client due to a claim, InsureLine head office will connect us with the claims department of any insurer and they provide us and our client VIP service. And that’s all because of InsureLine having that relationship with the insurer. So it’s very easy.

Over the years, because of the InsureLine support and the brand itself, we have continuously seen a growth of over 20% year to year growth, which is quite good for a startup company.

The first time I came into the office, I just fell in love with everyone that works here. My colleagues, they’re all very supportive and friendly, and it’s a place that makes me feel like I’m home.

InsureLine’s head office provides us with all kinds of technology and marketing support. We get fliers, calendars, and everything from them. The software that is provided to us is very efficient, and it really helps us to manage the client relationship. We get the reminders on time so that we don’t miss any renewal dates. I think the InsureLine mobile app that we’re using makes my job easier. It also helps our producers to manage their clients.

My impression of the InsureLine regional conferences is, Fun! I get to meet a lot of other people. I learn and I get a sense of being part of a family when I’m there at those conferences. I love them!

InsureLine definitely helps us with training. They have all the people that are willing to help me. They have training available all the time. Whether it’s with cybersecurity or with the BMS, there’s always somebody there that I can reach out to, and they’re always eagerly willing to help me with my questions.

I think people do recognize the InsureLine brand – when I meet people off the street and they see that I have my InsureLine shirt on, they’ll point at it and say, “I’m insured with your company!” I think they are doing great marketing. Before I joined InsureLine, I was a producer. I’ve worked in this business for over 30 years. I wanted to setup my own insurance brokerage, but I had no contracts with insurers. InsureLine helped me to setup my company, and get a lot of insurer contracts.

I was the first InsureLine franchise, and technology wise, people wise, everything keeps getting better year over year. And our brokerage has been growing steadily, and we have grown from one office to two offices in the last couple of years.

We have been attending all the conferences since day one. It’s always exciting to be part of the conference, and we always come back with a great experience and also learn a lot. Training is a big part of the InsureLine system. We get training sessions that are organized by all the different people at head office and also from the insurer partners. This keeps our brokers updated and makes them more efficient.

The InsureLine head office support has been great. And head office is always trying to bring on technology and people to help grow our business. They have somebody available whenever we have a question that we cannot answer ourselves – they always have somebody that helps us out.
